When I first moved back to Cambridge after university, I struggled to find any other bloggers in the area and it was a real shock after the amazing community in Leeds. Many years later and so much has changed. We still have fewer events and fancy openings than bigger cities, but the community has really grown. However it can still be hard to know where to look if you are new to the area or blogging, so I wanted to put together a guide to my favorite communities packed full of bloggers in Cambridge and how you can join them.
CambMeetUp
Facebook: #CambMeetUp
Instagram: CambMeetUp and #cambmeetup
Founder: Clashing Time
The original Cambridge bloggers group (or at least, the first group I discovered) was created by Pippa from Clashing Time. Its Facebook group has around 120 members and is a great place to go to meet other bloggers, promote your posts and hear about any blogging events in the area.
Cambridge Little Gems
Instagram: CambridgeLittleGems and #cambridgelittlegems
Founder: @dy_ellie
Curated by Ellie, who has one of the most beautiful Instagrams, Cambridge Little Gems really showcases the beauty of Cambridge. The hashtag includes the most gorgeous photos and lovelist Instagrammers and it's a great place to go for inspiration.
Cambridge Creatives
Facebook: Cambridge Creatives
Instagram: #cambridgecreatives
Founder: Claire A Belle Makes
Cambridge Creatives is a broader collection of creatives, aimed at designers, makers and general creative types. Most people have their own business but I'm not the only blogger in the group and it's a brilliant community to surround yourself with, whether you're looking to pursue a self-employed life and your own business or simply hang around with friendly creative people. Their seasonal photowalks are not to be missed; keep your eyes peeled for the next one!
Visit Cambridge
Instagram: Visit Cambridge Official and #visitcambridge
Ok, I had to include this one; part of my day job for Visit Cambridge is to build a digital community to promote Cambridge as a destination so forgive me for the work related pitch! But this hashtag is seriously great for inspiration for your trip to Cambridge from bloggers, locals and visitors alike. The Visit Cambridge Instagram account is also a great way to discover bloggers and Instagrammers, as a new person takes over the account each week and shows their favourite places to go in the city.
Big Up A Blogger
Instagram: Big Up A Blogger and #bigupablogger
Founder: One 2 Culinary Stew
This account isn't just for those based in Cambridge but it was started by Cambridge foodie Pina. The account does exactly what it says on the tin, promoting bloggers and giving them an extra boost, and I'm excited to see it grow.
Do you have blogging communities in your home town? I'd love to hear about them!
I was inspired to write this post after I read about Twins That Travel's new mentorship opportunity. Twins That Travel are some of my favourite bloggers thanks to their genuinely supportive ethos and they asked bloggers to shine a light on their community. This post started as an Instagram caption and quickly developed into something much longer - and I'm glad it did!
